Yak-52: SB 107BD |

The second most known, it consists in riveting a duraluminium plate underneath the wing's main spar providing additional strength. It was introduced in 1990 following the discovery of underspecified holes in the left wing spar between ribs NN 1 and 2A on some of the Yak-52. No chances were taken, and eventually this modification appears on all the Yak-52 overhauled at Shakhty from mid-90s.
Here again, as for 59R/60R, the mod has to be done with certified parts and at a certified facility. |
